ABOUT US

HopeSem is part of Hope Church (Singapore) as its equipping centre for global church; where experience, knowledge and skills learnt can be applied and honed in the environment of Hope Church (Singapore) and beyond. HopeSem strives in its mission "to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." (Ephesians 4:12-13)

 

 

CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES

Being in a certificate programme (instead of taking modules randomly) is beneficial because the structured studies offer a systematic and full-orbed training for ministry. In line with the refinement of HopeSem’s core mission, HopeSem has revamped and upgraded its existing programmes. We are also preparing to launch new programmes to meet the changing ministry needs of the church.
 
 
These are the certificate programmes currently available:
 
·         Certificate of Christian Leadership
·         Certificate of Missions Studies
·         Certificate of Pastoral Counselling

STUDY OPTIONS AND MODULE FEES

There are basically two types of study options for HopeSem modules: credit and audit.


Students enrolled in the credit study option for a module will be engaged in active learning beyond just the interactive lectures, such as through specially-designed assignments, group projects, class presentations, quizzes/final examinations and/or online forums. Credit students will be graded according to his or her exhibition of understanding through the various learning channels. The grades earned for each module can eventually be counted towards the fulfilment of a certificate programme if he or she chooses to enrol in one.

 

Students enrolled in the audit study option for a module will primarily learn through attending the lectures. Audit students will not be required to submit any form of written assignments, or take any form of quizzes/examinations. Audit students will still be required to take their attendance for lectures, but will not be graded for the module. Attending a module under the audit study option does NOT count towards the fulfilment of any certificate programmes.

 

The course fees for a credit module is $60.00, but students who are enrolled into a certificate programme will enjoy a discounted rate of $50.00 per module, while students who choose to audit a module will only pay $30.00 per module. Those who wish to register for a module after its closing date should write to hopesem@hopesingapore.org.sg directly. However, please note that late registration is subjected to approval, and will incur an additional fee of $10.00.

MODULES OFFERED IN 2012

There are two main timeslots for the HopeSem modules offered: (1) night classes on Monday evenings, and (2) day classes on Saturdays during the Adults WFL seasons.
