Is the Lord with you today?

I read the following passage this week and questioned myself if the Lord is with me in whatever I do:

(Genesis 39: 2 - 6)

The LORD was with Joseph and he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master. When his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD gave him success in everything he did, Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned. From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the LORD blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the LORD was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field. So he left in Joseph's care everything he had; with Joseph in charge, he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate.
As we know that Pontiphar was an Egyptian (and hence, a non-believer) could see the Lord was with Joseph, Joseph obviously demonstrated such distinguished Christlikeness that his non-believing employer was impressed. I wonder if my non-believing colleagues, supervisors or boss could see that the Lord is with me in whatever I do. This passage reminded me to see my relationship with God as a tool to bless non-believers around me. I believe God can equip us means of influence (such as skills or position) if we aim to be a blessing to other people in our office.

What Does a Real Christian Man Look Like?

Good article...

As the body of Christ, we know that our culture has lost a wholesome image of masculinity, but we disagree on the way to get it back. There's a whole gamut of opinions about this, but I've identified some of the most popular. See if any of these ring a bell:

  • The "Wild" Christian Men
  • The Smart Christian Men
  • The Christian Men on Steroids

  • Article: Why God Allows Good Men to Fall

    Reference:
I want to talk to you about why God allows good men to fall. My attention was drawn to this subject when I got an e-mail message from a man I haven’t seen in over 30 years. He wrote to ask if I had heard the news. What news? Someone we both knew had divorced his wife and was now pursuing the former wife of a former friend. Two friends, two marriages broken, one man now pursuing his former friend’s former wife. Did I mention that the man who is doing the pursuing was a pastor.

    Summary
    I. No Christian man is beyond the possibility of real moral failure.
II. Satan often attacks us at the point of our strength, not at the point of our weakness.
III. God allows us to fail in order to strip away our excessive self-confidence.
IV. God can redeem your mistakes if you will let him.
