Who we are
In the beginning, five people devoted themselves to serving the Lord and worshipping in a humble little apartment at Telok Kurau. Though they were small in number, their dream was God-sized: to fulfil the Great Commission by raising Christ-centered disciples to plant vibrant, biblical churches in Singapore and all over the world. This heart cry was the reason why Hope Singapore was started on 17 Feb 1991, and it is still echoing strongly in the hearts of the thousands who have joined this spiritual family ever since.
Today, our church has become a beacon for many Christ followers. It is not unusual to see believers gathering frequently in services or in smaller care groups to meet God, to serve or even simply to share lives. We love God, we love people and we couldn't be happier about people coming to know our great God.
We do life together based on 10 core values: we are Christ-centred, Holy Spirit empowered, Bible based and a covenantal people; a life-enriching community, who are vision driven disciple makers, leadership trainers and church planters who belong to an apostolic movement.

Here, we are fully committed to helping people who are far from God come to a loving and living relationship with Jesus Christ. We also continually encourage and disciple all believers to be and to do all that Jesus wants us to be and do in our lifetime. As a local church, we have sent out many of our people to pioneer churches all over the world. We believe that the message of Jesus Christ is too good to be confined within the four walls of our church and within the shores of Singapore.
From day one till today, we set out simply to be a church that is built on Christ our rock, and nothing else. Here, lives are transformed, minds are renewed each day. Some interesting facts about us:
- We are a member church of an international family of churches (Hope International Ministries). We have churches in 35 countries.
- We are a registered church with the Registrar of Charities and also with the Registrar of Societies (ROS 263/1991 REL; UEN: S93SS0023L).
- We are a member of the Evangelical Fellowship of Singapore, and the National Council of Churches of Singapore.
- We are listed along with six other churches as fast growing churches in Singapore in the book, “Church in Asia Today”, edited by Dr. Saphir Athyal and published in December 1998.
- We are named among four other churches in Singapore as mission-minded churches in the 2001 book by a freelance writer “The Call – The Challenge: The Antioch Call of Asia”.
