Title: Building Leaders As Our Culture
Text: Acts 6:1-7
As the church grows in diversity and reach, the call to build leaders becomes a shared culture rather than a selective role. God advances His mission through men and women who are willing to step up with humility, faithfulness, and a heart to serve others. When leadership is embraced across generations and life stages, the church is strengthened, equipped, and positioned to steward the growth God brings.

Title: Bible As Our Blueprint
Text: 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Scripture is God-breathed and given to shape how we live. More than information, the Bible is God’s life-giving gift that guides our decisions, forms our character, and equips us for every good work. We are called to value God’s Word deeply—feeding on it daily, allowing it to correct and direct us, and responding with obedience so that it truly transforms our lives.
As Hope Church celebrates 35 years of God’s faithfulness, this series calls us to revisit the unchanging values that have shaped our journey. In a changing world, we look again to the Jesus Way—anchoring ourselves in what remains constant as we move forward together into the next season.
Title: Focus 2026
Text: 2 Peter 1:12-15
What is the Lord speaking to our Hope movement as we turn 35 years old this year?
General Questions:
- “A small drift today will lead to big deviations in the long run”. Was there a time where you experienced how making small compromises led to undesired or even disastrous outcomes? Share to the LG on what you learned through this incident.
Perspective Questions:
- The Church exists to fulfil God’s purpose and Jesus came to reconcile people back to Him. Each of us belong to the church and play a part in enabling this vision to be fulfilled. How can we internalise this in our personal lives and live it out? Are there challenges we face in embracing this vision personally?
- There are three approaches we can take when we are exposed to a concept:
-
- Level 1: Focus on Others
- Level 2: Reflect on the Past
- Level 3: Committed to Growth
What kind of underlying heart attitudes drive these three different responses? How can we help ourselves to not get stuck at levels 1 and 2?
-
Application Questions:
- These are the godly fundamentals Pastor Jeff spoke about that we need to revisit:obedience, trust, surrender, submission, faith, sacrifice, humility, teachability, love, forgiveness, integrity, followership and holiness. Pick one which you need to be committed to grow in this year and share how you can go about doing so.
- Hope Church was started to fulfil God’s vision. As a lifegroup, how can we help one another stay the course and continue to be focused on fulfilling God’s vision together? Brainstorm and agree on a few actionable steps together.

Title: Global Missions Is For Everyone
Our church desires to fulfil the Great Commission and this includes bringing the Gospel to the nations. What are some of our core beliefs regarding global missions?
General Questions:
- What is global missions to you? How relevant is it to you in your current life station and why?
Perspective Questions:
- The Lausanne Covenant (1974) declared that “World evangelisation requires the whole Church to take the whole gospel to the whole world.” By extension, every member in every church should be missions minded. How does this challenge your view on global missions? Have we excluded ourselves from the work of world evangelisation for various reasons? Why?
- How have some believers re-defined or diluted missions according to their personal preference (e.g. community work)? What are the dangers in doing so?
Application Questions:
- The more we value the Gospel, the greater our desire will be to fulfil the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-2). No matter where you are at in your missions journey, what is a first or next step you can take to participate in God’s global mission?
- How do you think going for a Short Term Mission (STM) trip as a lifegroup will change or enrich the LG? If your LG embarks on a STM trip in the next 1-2 years, how can you contribute?
Series: Focus 2024
In 2024, as we abide in Christ, let’s focus on holiness and harvest.
Perspective Questions:
-
As we review the resolutions we have made for the new year, how much of our resolutions have to do with growing in holiness?
Application Questions:
-
What are some steps we can take to grow in holiness?
-
By God’s grace, we are able to influence people beyond our generation, socio-economic status and ethnicity. What are some opportunities or platforms we can utilise to reach people who are different from us?
Come and hear what God has in store for our church & personal lives as we move forward to 2024.
Series: Promise Keeper
Title: In The Face of Evil
Text: Matthew 2:13-18
Jesus, the promised King and Saviour, arrived on earth not to cheers and applause from men, but to murderous threats on His life. What can we learn from Jesus’ difficult childhood that will help us to hold onto God’s promises even in the face of evil?
Perspective Questions:
-
Evil stems from human selfishness – humans do what they want even when it violates God’s will and hurt others. In this sense, all of us are capable of evil. What then, can help us to resist evil and live righteously?
-
When bad things happen to good people, we are understandably confused and even angry. In such times, what are some promises from God that we can hold onto that can help to deepen our faith?
Application Questions:
-
Who can you think of needs to know that God is a faithful God even in times of trouble and uncertainty? How can you bring this truth to this person?
-
God kept His promise to send Jesus to the Cross to die for the sins of the world. Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, we can be right with God and live with Him for all eternity. This is our hope, even if we have to struggle through life! How can we tell those who feel hopeless and helpless that the King has come for them to save them and give them the hope of an eternal life with God?
