Title: Fear Of Missing Out

Series: Undecided
Text: Proverbs 3:1-8
When making decisions, some of us may struggle with the fear of missing out on what God wants to tell us. “What if I hear God wrongly?” “What if I make a mistake in deciphering His instructions?” How should we address this fear? What is the right way to approach God when we need His guidance?

1) Choose God’s will by keeping His commands (Proverbs 3:1-4)

We may ask for God’s will in the big things but rarely care about what God’s will is in the daily things. What is a command of God that believers may miss or struggle to obey? What is the difference between superficial following of rules and heartfelt obedience? How can the LG help one another to obey God sincerely?
2) Choose God’s will by submitting to His ways (Proverbs 3:5-8)
Trusting God involves taking His view on what is right and wrong instead of insisting on our own views (“lean not on your own understanding”). What are some common areas where believers may find it hard to take God’s view? Why is it that they may struggle to trust God and lean not on their own understanding? When are the times when people may be tempted to be wise in their own eyes? How can the LG encourage one another to gain wisdom by fearing God?
