Title: Focus 2026
Text: 2 Peter 1:12-15
What is the Lord speaking to our Hope movement as we turn 35 years old this year?
General Questions:
- “A small drift today will lead to big deviations in the long run”. Was there a time where you experienced how making small compromises led to undesired or even disastrous outcomes? Share to the LG on what you learned through this incident.
Perspective Questions:
- The Church exists to fulfil God’s purpose and Jesus came to reconcile people back to Him. Each of us belong to the church and play a part in enabling this vision to be fulfilled. How can we internalise this in our personal lives and live it out? Are there challenges we face in embracing this vision personally?
- There are three approaches we can take when we are exposed to a concept:
-
- Level 1: Focus on Others
- Level 2: Reflect on the Past
- Level 3: Committed to Growth
What kind of underlying heart attitudes drive these three different responses? How can we help ourselves to not get stuck at levels 1 and 2?
-
Application Questions:
- These are the godly fundamentals Pastor Jeff spoke about that we need to revisit:obedience, trust, surrender, submission, faith, sacrifice, humility, teachability, love, forgiveness, integrity, followership and holiness. Pick one which you need to be committed to grow in this year and share how you can go about doing so.
- Hope Church was started to fulfil God’s vision. As a lifegroup, how can we help one another stay the course and continue to be focused on fulfilling God’s vision together? Brainstorm and agree on a few actionable steps together.

Series: Focus 2024 – Abide
Text: John 15:1-8
It can be hard to abide in something when we live in a fast-paced, ever-changing world. We tend to abandon old things when we get tired of them and we chase after new things. Yet God calls us to abide in Christ, to remain united with Christ, and to hold onto Christ.
General Questions:
-
Do you find it a challenge to abide or remain in the same thing over time? Why or why not? What is one thing you have abided or remained in (e.g. a job, a marriage)? What makes you stay?
Perspective Questions:
-
When we abide in Christ, God prunes us so that we can grow spiritually. Describe a pruning experience you had with God. What happened, how did it feel, and how have you grown? What is an important attitude to have when we experience God’s pruning?
-
When we abide in Christ, God makes us fruitful to His glory. Knowing that fruitfulness depends on God, how do we make sense of the fruit, or the lack thereof, that we see in our lives?
Application Questions:
-
How is God wanting to prune your life today? How can you allow God to complete the pruning process?
With revival comes a fervent longing to live for God and a deep concern for the souls of others. In this 7-part series, discover how we can allow God to search, purify, and ignite our hearts.

What is the focus of Hope Singapore this year? How does it impact us?
Perspective Questions:
-
The Holy Spirit is a refining fire – calling out sins, setting us free, and transforming us to be like Christ. Share one area that the Holy Spirit has started working in your life in 2022. How would you say you have grown since last year?
-
This year, our focus is “Hearts on Fire.” We want to see revival in the hearts of individuals. What does revival within a person look like to you? What are some signs that a person has been revived by God?
Application Questions:
-
Reflect on the Spirit’s refining work in your life. What is one way you can yield to the Spirit more?
-
People who are eager for revival are desperate for God to work deeply within them. How can you prepare yourself for God’s deep work in you this year?
-
Consider God’s heart for the youth in Singapore and for believers in other parts of the world. How do you see yourself participating in His ministry among these people groups?
In February 2022, we received a prophetic vision of the Holy Spirit dropping dollops of salt upon each of our tongues to induce an insatiable thirst for more of God.
Come thirsty to receive what God has in store for our church and personal lives as we move forward in 2023.
After 2 years of living with Covid-19, we could have learned to pick up new skills or broken new ground. We could also have suffered loss and battled anxieties, leaving us broken and lost.
Yet our all-knowing, all-loving, and all-powerful God is still at work. Come and hear what He has in store for our church and personal lives as we move forward in 2022.
