Exclusive video interview with Dr Leong Hoe Nam Infectious Disease Specialist, Mount Elizabeth Novena
As an Infectious Disease Specialist, Dr Leong is no stranger to the risks associated with deadly diseases and outbreaks. But nothing could have prepared him to face the pain and likelihood of death when he himself contracted SARS while treating Singapore’s first SARS patient in 2003.
“When I was diagnosed with SARS, my wife was pregnant. I wasn’t afraid of dying, I was more afraid of suffering. You learn to think about what’s important, your friends, your family, and you learn to think about what happens next.”
This Easter, hear his incredible battle with SARS, his experience being in the frontline defense of COVID-19, and how we need to have hope amidst fear and uncertainty.

Mirrors aren’t just glass surfaces we look into every day. They are anything that reflects what we think we see — family, friends, studies, and even voices in our head.
‘Mirror, Mirror’, an original Hope Singapore showcase of dance, video and life stories, explores what the mirrors of our lives have been telling us. Look closer and see what your reflection really shows.
Missions is often seen as something only for ‘super spiritual’ believers who are willing and able to uproot themselves and settle in an unfamiliar land. But God is a global God on a global mission.
As we prepare to ‘let the world see’ the Light of the world, enlarge your heart and view on how God prepares His church for missions, and how we should respond to His leadership on the missions ground.
