Title: Come and Abide 来，与上帝连结!

“Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me.” – Psalm 42:7
At some point in life, we may realise that our human needs are great, and we can’t go on with our own strength anymore.
“Come,” he said…” (Matthew 14:29). Just like how Jesus rescued Peter from sinking into the depths of water, He is willing to rescue those who call upon Him.
So come to the Gardener of your heart and let Him tend the soil of your soul. Abide in His presence. Discover the greatness of His love and goodness which are greater than your needs. Like the psalmist who from the depth of his despair found help in the depth of God’s goodness, you will, too. Come and be refreshed, renewed and refined into His likeness as you abide in Him!
“你的瀑布一发声，深渊就和深渊响应；你的洪涛和波浪都掩盖了我。” – 诗篇 42:7
在生命的某个阶段，我们会意识到我们的需求很大，无法依靠自己的力量前行。耶稣在马太福音 14:29 说道 “来吧” 就如耶稣如何拯救彼得，不让他沉入水中，祂也愿意救赎那些呼求祂的人。

Title: My Hiding Place 我的藏身之处

“For you are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble.” – Psalm 32:7a (NLT)
When your life shatters, Jesus is there for you. When you are broken to pieces, He picks you from the dust and makes you whole again. His loving arms are open to give you loving comfort and protection, and to help you get back up and be strong again.
We can have confidence that God is on our side. In His presence, we are ultimately safe and secure. Entrust your life in God’s unfailing love. He is the best hiding place.
“你是我藏身之处，你必保护我脱离患难” – 诗篇 32:7a
当生命的困扰使你崩溃时，耶稣会在那支持你。当你支离破碎时，耶稣会从尘埃里把你拾起，再次让你完整。祂敞开的怀抱会给你爱的关怀和保护，扶持你重新站起来，再次刚强起来。

If you feel like you’re in a hopeless situation, look up and see the hand of God reaching out, ready to pull you out of the storm you’re in. You just have to trust in His sovereignty and that He is in control. He shows up in times of need when you call upon His Name.
“因为我，耶和华你们的 神，紧握着你的右手，
对你说：“不要惧怕，我必帮助你” – 以赛亚书 41:13
如果你感到绝望无助，抬头仰望上帝伸出的手，祂已经准备好从风暴中拯救你。你只需要相信在祂的主权下，祂掌管一切。只要你在需要祂时呼求祂的名，祂必会出现。
Title: Yoked with Jesus 与耶稣同负一轭

“Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” – Matthew 11:28-30 (NLT)
Jesus sees through your weariness and burdens in life. Abide in Him and receive the rest He gives.
As you choose to be yoked with Jesus, He will surely teach you to find rest for your soul. In every triumph and every failure, He will remain loyal to you and journey with you, side by side.
“耶稣说，”你们所有劳苦担重担的人哪，到我这里来吧！我必使你们得安息。 我心里柔和谦卑，你们应当负我的轭，向我学习，你们就必得着心灵的安息； 我的轭是容易负的，我的担子是轻省的。” -马太福音 11:28-30
耶稣知晓你生命里的疲惫与负担。你要住留在祂里面，领受祂赐的安息。
当你选择与耶稣同负一轭时，祂必会教导你如何找到安息。无论是胜利或失败，祂必然会信实地与你并肩同行。
Title: A Childlike Faith 孩童般的信

“Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me. Don’t keep them away. The kingdom of heaven belongs to people like them.” – Matthew 19:14 (NIRV)
Abiding in God is having a childlike faith that is confident and hopeful in the promised word of God. As it has been revealed to us, we believe that the Father is faithful to accomplish all He has promised.
The kingdom of heaven belongs to those who willingly commune with God in His Word and abundant love. The future may feel unsure, but the love of the Father is sure to bring us into our blessed hope through Jesus Christ our Lord.
“耶稣说, ‘让小孩子到我这里来，不要禁止他们，因为天国是属于这样的人的。’ – 马太福音19:14
连结在主内是需要像孩童般，对上帝所应许的话语充满信心和盼望，相信天父必会实现祂所有的应许。
天国是属于那些愿意在上帝的话语与祂丰盛的爱里与祂交往的人。未来或许充满未知，但是父神的爱必会通过我们的主耶稣基督引领我们进入那蒙福的盼望。

Jesus, in His boundless love, welcomes us like a child, eagerly awaiting our approach and conversation. His welcome is not a mere desire, but a deep-seated love for us. When He gently tapped on the door of my dream, it was a clear sign that He yearned to hear my heart. As I knelt, inviting Him closer, I should have felt uneasy. Yet, this is how Jesus reveals His accessibility and desire to commune with me.
“于是拉过一个小孩子来，叫他站在门徒中间，又把他抱起来，对他们说： “凡因我的名接待一个这样的小孩子的，就是接待我；凡接待我的，不是接待我，而是接待那差我来的。”– 马可福音 9:36-37

Title: Dance With My Father 与天父共舞

Just as in a dance, we follow the lead of our dance partner. What more when we dance with our Father – that intimate surrender as we let go and embrace His presence.
Step by step, Jesus takes the lead, and we follow. We can sway our burdens away, believing He won’t bring us to where He won’t go.
There is a profound joy and freedom in trusting in His unfailing love. Find solace in putting your faith in God’s plans as you dance through the various seasons of your life.
在跳舞时，我们都会跟随舞伴的引导。当我们与天父共舞时，又何尝不是如此呢？
当我们放下一切，降服在祂的同在里，耶稣会一步一步地引领我们。我们跟随时，也可以脱下我们的负担，相信祂不会带我们去祂不去的地方。

“He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” – Psalm 91:4
This painting captures my feelings of being prayed for amidst a hopeless situation.
Consider the story of Job, a man who may have lost everything, but never the love of God. He was still enveloped in His refuge. This narrative invites us to place our trust in God’s wisdom and character, regardless of our circumstances. He is our living hope, a sanctuary where we can find solace and comfort.

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing. Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (ESV)
Be thankful not only when life is smooth sailing, but also during the storms. Jesus is present in the worried nights of anxiety. He sails with us in stormy journeys. He steers through the waters when we are drowning and overwhelmed. That’s why we can always rejoice!
We can joyfully sail through the storm knowing that He is in control, accepting God’s will over our own.
“ 要常常喜乐，不住祷告，凡事谢恩；这就是 神在基督耶稣里给你们的旨意.” – 帖撒罗尼迦前书 5:16-18
我们不仅要在一帆风顺时感恩，也要在风暴中感恩。耶稣会在忧虑焦急的夜晚与我们同在。祂会与我们一起在风暴中航行。当我们即将溺水，不堪重负时，祂会控制导航。这就是为什么我们可以常常喜乐。
因为知道祂掌控一切，我们可以在风暴中欢喜航行，接受上帝的旨意。
Title: A Rooted Heart 扎根的心 Artist: Wong Ding Chuen
“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” – Colossians 2:6-7
The bonsai tree represents an intentional effort to turn our hearts towards God. The roots growing deep into the rocks represent growing deep in the word of God. The birds on the branches are inspired by the parable of the mustard seed (Mark 4:30-32).
I sense a call from the Lord to bring the believers back to Him — to be rooted in the word and strengthened in faith; to refocus and replace worthless things with life-giving manna from heaven.
Let us not live in fear, but with a peace only God can give. Let us not settle for temporal happiness but strive for true joy that comes from God. Let us not dwell in disappointments but in a sure hope. Let’s step into our God-given destiny and live life to the fullest in Christ, and all these blessings will follow. All these start from a rooted heart in the Lord.

盆栽代表我们刻意地将心转向上帝。那深入石头的根代表我们在上帝的话语里深深扎根。最后，树枝上的鸟儿取自于马可福音4:30-32 芥菜种的比喻。
我感受到主的呼召，要把信徒带回祂身边，让我们扎根于祂的话语，增强信心，重新聚焦，用从天而降的吗哪来取代没有价值的事物。
让我们领受上帝赐的平安，不再生活在恐惧之中。让我们不满于世界短暂的快乐，而是追求来自上帝真正的喜乐。让我们不再沉溺于失望，而是满怀希望。让我们踏入上帝命定的道路，充分活出在基督里的生命，那祝福就会随之而来。这一切来自在主内扎根的心
As We Abide
A Series by Belda Rasidi in collaboration with Wong Ding Chuen
This series of paintings was inspired by my time in Kazakhstan.
One day, I received a vision of an eye, a hand, a foot, and the heart of Jesus, which prompted me to start painting. The concept of “Half” in the series symbolises a call to partner in God’s work.
I have not physically seen the Lord’s eyes, hands, feet, or heart. However, before each brushstroke, Ding Chuen and I prayed and sought guidance from the Holy Spirit in the Lord’s presence. I hope this series will stir your spirit.

When you see the Lord’s foot, may you feel driven to go where God has called you.
I hope you walk as Jesus did, bringing the Good News. After all, how can people know if we don’t go?

May your heart align with His desires.

“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.“ – John 14:12
One day, as I felt overwhelmed by the many “forces” acting in this world, I felt a sense of doom and gloom for the future generation. As I meditated on this, I felt a tug in my heart, saying that God will be the One to raise the next generation. Although humanly we might not see how God loves them, we know He will spare no effort to raise the next generation. In fact, they are going to do even greater things. There is hope in God, so let’s also do our part.
Two rainbows painted, one nearer and one further away, represent how the hope of God is available from generation to generation.
“我实实在在告诉你们，我所作的事，信我的人也要作，并且要作比这些更大的，因为我往父那里去.“ – 约翰福音 14:12
有一天，当我感到被这世界的种种“力量”压迫时，我为未来的新一代感到绝望和沮丧。在思想这些时，我内心感到上帝将培育崛起下一代。虽然我们以肉眼无法看到上帝会如何展现祂的慈爱，但是我们知道祂将会不遗余力地栽培下一代。事实上，他们会作更伟大的事。在主内有盼望，因此让我们也尽一份力。

Title: Wholehearted Obedience 全心全意的顺服 Artist: Wong Ding Chuen
Abiding in the Lord translates to the willingness to carry our cross to follow Him, worship Him freely, share the Gospel, and spend time praying and meditating on His word. We will resolve to be the salt and light of the world. We will love our neighbours, make disciples and plant churches!
与主连结意味着我们要愿意背起我们的十字架跟从祂，自由地敬拜祂，宣扬福音，花时间祷告，思想祂的话语，坚持做世界的盐与光。我们必须爱邻舍，栽培门徒，栽植教会！
Title: Crown of Glory 荣耀冠冕 Artist: Marinelle Nagrampa
“And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.” – 1 Peter 5:4
The “crown of glory” is a promised reward for every believer who steadfastly abides, representing the ultimate honour for those who remain faithful to their calling regardless of circumstances. It symbolises perseverance, holiness, and faithfulness.
Just as grapes are crushed to yield wine and olives are pressed to produce oil, believers may undergo refining trials that strengthen their faith, being assured of the rewarding outcome that awaits them.
“ 到了牧长显现的时候，你们必定得着那永不衰残的荣耀冠冕.” – 彼得前书 5:4
“荣耀冠冕”是对每一个坚定与主连结的信徒所应许的承诺。它代表了信徒在无论任何情况都忠于自己的呼召的最高荣耀。它象征坚持，圣洁以及忠诚。
就如葡萄被压榨出酒和橄榄被压榨出油一样，信徒也会经历试炼，因而增强他们的信心，并确信他们将得到的回报。

Title: A Time Of Refreshing

The heavens opened wide, releasing a torrent of living water, drenching the parched land and bringing life to the barren fields. It is God’s desire to rejuvenate every weary and exhausted soul. Those who have been waiting for breakthrough will embrace a season of new beginning and enjoy a moment of refreshing.
“I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint” (Jeremiah 31:25, NIV)
Title: Anchored For Fruitfulness

If we desire a fruitful growth in any aspect of our lives, we must first seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness. The Bible promises the Living Water that gives us fruitfulness beyond measure as we heed and obey the Word of God.
When trials come upon us, hang in on God’s promise in Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NIV): “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (Matthew 6:33, NIV)
Title: Be Joyful Always

Storms are inevitable in life. Trust Jesus to calm the storms in us. He can quiet the raging waves and winds. We can be secure and confident in Him who freed us to be ourselves, to always be joyful and become all we can be in Him in midst of the storms. Jesus is our present help in times of need.
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1, NIV)
Title: Be Still

To be still means to be quiet in God’s presence.
We are safe in the assurance that He is God.
We can wait on Him and sleep peacefully even amid chaos. No matter what happens around us, God is our refuge and strength.
“Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him… ” (Psalm 37:7a, NIV)
Title: Enjoy the Journey

The only way we can walk in God’s way is by His grace at work in our lives. The days ahead maybe troubled. It may be easy to get swayed by the terrains of life, yet we can give God the right to direct our lives. As we trust Him along the way, He will make our “being right and good show as the light, and your wise actions as the noon day.” (Psalm 37:5, NLV). When He delights in us, He establishes our every step. Even if we stumble badly, we still survive for the Lord lifts us up with His hands.
“The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.” (Psalm 37:23-24, NIV)
Title: From Refining To Abundance

Through faith and perseverance, in trials there is a promise of abundance. Fire and water are symbols of purification and transformation. Be assured that God is always at work within us when He allows us to go through fire and waves. Ultimately, He will bring us to a place of abundance and fulfillment.
“For you, God, tested us; you refined us like silver. You brought us into prison and laid burdens on our backs. You let people ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance.” (Psalm 66:10-12, NIV)
Title: God’s Spring Amidst My Dry Land

The Lord can bring forth spring into the dry areas in our life. God promised that those who come to Him will never be put to shame but will be satisfied. They will rejoice; their lives will blossom. Many great works God has started in their lives shall be revealed and be completed in Christ Jesus (Isaiah 35:1,7)
As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” (Romans 10:11, NIV)
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty”. (John 6:35)
Title: Receive!

You may be broken, pressed down, shaken and crushed. Good news! God can restore us graciously, though painful and slow process it may be. There is a crack in everything – that’s how the light gets in.
Receive! Allow the anointing oil to flow from your head to toe, to seep in the cracks into the out-of-control compartment of our hearts.
Receive! Allow the anointing oil to cleanse and make things holy to piece you back together. God can use our brokenness in ways we could never imagine!
Receive the Holy Spirit coming upon us to heal, empower and bless us.
Receive! God wants to consecrate and sanctify you to set you apart for Him.
Title: Satisfaction in the Lord

Lord stretched out His hand where water gushed out, cleansing the people and washing them from black in colour to purple (colour of royalty). Their chests started glowing like newly lit candles.
We glorify God when we are satisfied in Him the most. People constantly seek satisfaction to quench their thirst. Jesus Christ offers the Living Water to satisfy man’s wandering soul. Their hearts will be filled with satisfaction, shouts for joy and rejoicing in the Lord. God offers comfort and joy for sorrows, and abundance for those who lack. (Jeremiah 31:12-14).
Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (John 4:13-14, NIV)

As the people worship, a new wave of glory is unveiled, ushering in freedom and transformation within their hearts. The Lord wants His people to walk triumphantly, as they approach Him with unwavering faith and eager anticipation of a new beginning.
“But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. (2 Corinthians 3:16-18, NIV)

The Lord’s assurance is that His shower of blessings will be upon those who fix their eyes on Him. His hand will be upon them and their future generations.

I was praying and I saw a vision of children’s eyes in Middle East.
The message I received: “the world is seeking Peace, Hope and Love. If we don’t go, how would they know?”
“For, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!””

'Hearts on Fire' Hope Conference 2023
Title: Desperate Intercessions

I saw hundreds of people from different nations lying prostrate or on their knees, crying out in desperation for more of God in every aspect of their lives and in their communities.
The Lord sees those who hunger and thirst for Him and desperately yearn for His presence and strength. He will answer their pleas and cries for help according to His divine will. His grace overflows from these individuals to communities and nations, as their lives are being transformed from the inside out.

“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.“ (Matthew 5:14-16)
Title: The Cry For Holiness

Inspired by Isaiah 6. An image of cherubim crying out, “holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty!” as the people of God are on their knees praying and studying His word.
The Lord desires us to be holy and be a people who always humble ourselves before Him, ready for Him to use as His vessels.
Title: Hyssop

“Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow”. (Psalm 51:7)
Hyssop was mentioned in the bible as a plant used for ritual cleansing purposes. It represents spiritual cleansing, purification and redemption.
God desires for His people to be cleansed and sanctified, above all. Revival begins with holiness. Transformation starts with a desire to live a holy life.

Jesus is our Lion of Judah. He fights our battles and has triumphed over temptation, sin, pain, suffering, fear, death and the enemy. And so have we.
No one can remove the fire within us. We have been given the authority to overcome death and sin. We will soar high like eagle and not faint until our Saviour returns for us.

We have a sense of eternity in our lives, an innate knowledge deep within that there is something more to life than what we can see and experience in the here and now.
When nothing truly satisfies, or even if your days seem filled with darkness and tears now, take heart that these, too, shall pass. Life is but a vapour. This world is not our home. We have something divine to look forward to past this life: Heaven – an eternal home with our Maker where there is no more tears, sorrow, or pain.

God is calling us to step up in faith to invest in the dreams we have for Him and not be like the servant who hid his bags of gold. Have you been going through the motions where God’s words seem empty? Are God’s standards shifting downward? Jeremiah 17:9 says, “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?”
Yet, despite our hearts’ condition, God holds them and constantly renews them. Ezekiel 36:26 says, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. Our health may fail and our spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of our hearts; He is ours forever (Psalm 72:26). Today, commit your heart to Him again.

Being on a mountaintop allows you to see the whole world, it seems. It also makes one feel near to God. But the challenge is hiking up to the top of the mountain, which is difficult and exhausting.
We have “mountains” in life we do not want to climb – physical ailments, financial problems, mental struggles, discouragement, loss, and grief.
But when we find ourselves climbing up these mountains, the good news is that we are also freed to experience the nearness of God’s presence. We can look forward to the joy which awaits us at the top of these mountains. We can continue to persevere, take risks and push ourselves when we feel that the challenges are beyond us, knowing that God is with us all the way.

Many are stalked by fears and worries that have already “eaten you up” for some time, causing mental and physical health challenges. Do not wander in darkness and fears anymore. Go to the Lord and seek refuge under His wings. Proclaim the Sovereignty of God in your life. In His presence, you’ll find security, guidance, protection and care.

Let Jesus bring us to a place of cleansing and soaking. He is more than willing to heal us of any brokenness and make us whole.

Look up, child! Our Father hears us. He sees every drop of your tears. He feels your pain. You’re not alone. When you look up, you will see hope that is holding on. When you look up, you will see unending light. When you look up, you will see the beautiful eyes of Jesus and His love. God is in control. Just look up, and you will see Him.

I saw a vision of a woman with silent screams, in constant fear and kept on falling as she was being snatched by a hand with claws. Like a sheep who has wandered away, she needs Jesus to bring her to safety and fill the void in her life.
She represents many in our midst who don’t have Christ – our family members, friends, colleagues, acquaintances. We were once lost like them, but Jesus found us. 1 Peter 2:25 says, “For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.” We are now part of the Shepherd’s flock because Jesus had compassion on us. Likewise, let us seek and save those who are lost.

God will show up again like He has done many times before. He comes to you not only in your loud encounters but in your cries, in your silence of prayer, in your whisper of faith. He is never caught off guard by your circumstances. He knows your inner struggles whether we are going through an emotional, spiritual, financial crisis and mental battles. God assures us not to be afraid for He is in control. In 2 Thessalonians 3:3, He assures us that “The Lord is faithful; He will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.”

As I was praying just now, I saw a huge willow tree. Willow trees are strong, adaptable and flexible. Their branches can bend into many areas and poses without breaking and snapping.
This picture and message are for someone who is having an internal struggle – whether in your spiritual life (relationship with God) or some other aspects of life. You are striving as you try to make sense of what your situation is and trying your best to achieve what you think it should be. Yet, you don’t see the fruits. You don’t find satisfaction. You are struggling so much to the point of almost giving up. Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart, yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end”. Like the willow tree, the message for you today is to surrender to Him completely. Do not fight. Cease striving on your own. God sees your heart and knows what you are going through. He has made you strong and given you the inner strength to overcome and to grow. Be adaptable and flexible – not to the ways of the world, but His word and principles, and advice of the spiritual mentors in your life. When you hear His voice, simply obey and surrender. You are an overcomer, and you will overcome in His strength!

This season is chaotic, stressful and uncertain. The news reported many tragic things happening all over the world.
Yet, every day God signs off the day with His signature sunset – the sky painted with beautiful colours across the water. “The whole earth is filled with awe at Your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades, you call forth songs of joy.” (Psalm 65:8).
Life may be challenging in this season, but there are great things we can give thanks for. Our hearts may be weary from unfulfilled longings, but God has a plan that far exceeds what we can hope for. He has prepared a boat for us to sail off. “Then Jesus told them, “You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going. Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light.” (John 12:35-36). Jesus promises us light. Those who walk with Him will be delivered from the shadows of fears, doubts and uncertainties.

When Jesus first appeared to His disciples, “they were startled and frightened and thought they saw a spirit”. Then he showed them His scars, and said, “See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me, and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.” And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet. (Luke 24:37, 39–40)
Some of us may be caught in an overwhelming loss, pain & suffering in these unprecedented times. No matter how difficult it may be, the message of love and hope through Jesus is all we need. God wants us to remember the beauty of His scars. Jesus’ scars remind us that He knows our pain. He became fully human, as one of us, so He could suffer with us and for us, carrying our sins to die in our place. His scars remind us that He loves us, that in His blood we have been washed.

This word suddenly flashed through my mind on my way to a meeting, and during the meeting, a colleague used it unintentionally. It has the same meaning as “regardless”, but the two negations in it often make its usage an insult to people passionate about English vocabulary. Hence, it is termed by many dictionaries as a “nonstandard” or “unusual” word.
In our life difficulties, we can be mired by doubts and hopelessness when we look at ourselves and the circumstances around us. We need to look up to God and heed His word: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty. (Zechariah 4:6, NIV).
Irregardless of who you are, what you see, what you think, what you have done or did not do; know that it is God, not your own abilities, that can deliver you from your troubles. His love is “unusual”. His ways are “nonstandard”. His grace covers a multitude of sins. Irregardless, He is able.

These days, I’d always find myself looking up at the canvas of God’s painting, be it in the morning, during sunsets or at night. And the more I stare at it, the greater I feel God’s love for me. No matter how tough my days would be, I’d just look up, then I get overwhelmed by what I see. I’d always be reminded of His love and faithfulness in my life whenever I stare at His creation’s beauty.
‘For great is Your love, higher than the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.’ (Psalm 108:3-4).
Look up, too. All will be well.

The search for the meaning of life has intensified due to the pandemic. Amidst life uncertainties, many are lost. Some have even fallen out of love with God. They have forgotten the taste of their First Love.
But God is persistent in His love. He’s inviting all to the banquet He has prepared and to come and taste the water of life, the Living Water. The love of Christ is here, gently drawing every heart to desire to come back to Him. Jesus said, “whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life” (John 4:14). So, come!

As we journey along the winding road of this challenging season, our view is partial. We tend to pick up and hang on to many burdens not meant for us to carry. Being human, we can end up passively capitulate to it. We become weary as we are caught up in it, being repressed, or get so used to it that it may even be tough to get rid of even when the pandemic is over. By our human understanding and strength, we do not know how long we can last, but God says in Matthew 11:28-30, “Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Then come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me. For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear.”

God assures us that our labour is not in vain, for He sees the bigger picture. He sees our beginning, and He knows our ending in Him. Right there at the end lies the powerful strength of Hope that is in JESUS! It may be hard to see what God is doing in our lives throughout the year, yet this Christmas, Jesus cheers for us. He says, “Don’t give up! Keep going! Take Heart! I have overcome the World!”
The heart of Christmas is the message of hope articulated beautifully when things seem dark. Jesus shows the way to light, guiding us towards His love.
